Peter was a self employed carpenter and joiner for 12 years, sharing a workshop to produce stairs, windows, doors and many other items. A large part of his work was of a traditional design and installation in old buildings to match the original fittings.
He has worked on many sites, including Berkeley Church roof, Avebury Manor Barn and other Timber framed buildings.
He has always had a keen interest in historic buildings and was delighted to join Ward & Co in 2000 as a Building Site Manager.
Rewarding Projects in Recent Times
Dauntcey Mediaeval Doom Scene won the John Betcheman award. This was an intricate project involving adaptation of ancient oak boards. The work required careful design of fixings to ensure the protection of these special materials.
