Woodchester Mansion is an architectural masterpiece of the Victorian age abandoned by its builders before it could be completed. It has been virtually untouched by time since the mid-1870s, and today offers a unique opportunity to tour and explore a Gothic building in mid-assembly.

Ward & Co has enjoyed a long involvement with this gothic revival mansion, undertaking extensive repairs to the West Range roof structure and coverings, and installing new stone chimneys (to replace those dismantled in the 1920’s). We have also created a new Caretaker’s flat and offices for the Woodchester Mansion Trust, and effected extensive stone repairs and stone conservation, stone carving, clock face replacement and decoration and gilding.
