As well as being leading period building conservators, Ward & Co also specialises in high quality new-build houses and extensions using both modern and traditional skills.
A beautiful and substantial house of 16th century origins, the Hill Cottage project required the high-level skills and experience of Ward & Co in both the new build and repair of a listed building.
The Hill Cottage project was designed and supervised by John Falconer Associates, Architects of Cheltenham and carried out under a JCT Form of Building Contract.
The scope of the works included a two-storey extension using traditional materials such as natural stone and lime mortars. The extension contained a bedroom with en-suite bathroom, kitchen and utility room, linked at both levels to the existing building. Great care had to be taken to repair and protect the fabric of the listed building, including sensitive repair of the original timber frame.
Ward & Cos meticulous attention to detail has resulted in an extension that blends in well with the original property, while the addition of modern services creates a bright future for this important listed building.
