Leaders in listed & period building repairs

Ward & Co has been entrusted with the repair, restoration and refurbishment of more than 350 of England's listed, historic and period buildings since 1995. Our clients include major heritage bodies such as The National Trust and English Heritage, as well as many private individuals, local authorities and buildings trusts.

As well as repairs to roofs, walls and floors, Ward & Co undertakes plaster conservation and new lime plastering, timber repairs and stone cleaning. Ward & Co also provides standard building contractor services including plumbing, wiring and redecorations to the highest standard.

Ward & Co's Conservation team is led by John Dorrington Ward who has been engaged in the repair of old buildings since winning the SPAB Lethaby Scholarship in 1988. His earlier background as a Chartered Surveyor and subsequently as a master builder gives him the rare and valuable experience of being both a specifier and a practitioner.

Project values range from £100,000 to in excess of £1million. Work is won through competitive tender and by negotiated contract. We have clear policies for pricing, cost control and client feedback.

Thank you and your team so much for a really splendid job of work in saving my cottage from an untimely collapse. I could not have wished for a more sensitive and skilled operation.
