Applying our long experience to solve problems and educate future craftsmen
Ward & Co's conservation consultancy practice is focussed on the two areas of problem-solving and education. Every Ward & Co Conservation Consultant has at least 15 years practical experience of building conservation as well as the appropriate qualifications to undertake the task.
Conservation problem-solving
From mystery leaking roofs to rapidly decaying monuments, we are consulted to solve every kind of building conservation problem. After undertaking a thorough inspection of the site, the Ward & Co Conservation Consultant produces a detailed written report specifying the nature and cause of the problem along with key steps towards an appropriate and practicable remedy.
Consultancy fees are charged on a time basis. An estimate of fees can be provided in advance in many cases.
Conservation education
Ward & Co has a long involvement in building conservation education and training. Most of our work in education is undertaken on a voluntary basis because we believe in sustaining craft skills into the future.
As well as running regular courses, such as in lime plastering, we work with a number of local and national organisations to increase awareness and understanding of the threats to our built heritage and the solutions that exist.
We are currently providing training days at the Woodchester Mansion Trust, acting as consultants to the Cotswolds Heritage Academy (which is run in partnership with The Prince's Foundation), to the Gloucester Diocesan Advisory Council, and are represented at the Construction Trades Board of Stroud College.

It is always good to hear from you and even better to talk to you. You are the only actual employer on our entire map as things stand.
